On Sunday morning, May 21st, Bob Allen White passed away at his home. His beloved wife, Barbara and his family were at his side. The clouds of Heaven lifted and ushered him into his forever home.
Bob White’s journey began in Garden Grove, CA on March 21st, 1949. In a word, Bob was curious. His inquisitiveness, keen intellect and natural athletic ability steered his many pursuits. He was a talented baseball player, proficient tennis player and a fisherman.
Karate was Bob’s passion. While his teaching, coaching and council showcased his skills as a martial artist, one thing he taught us all is that, with humility, there is always more to learn. Volunteering his service to others was not beneath him. He used many sayings to make his point; here is one of my favorites:
Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Bob White was driven. He sought to grasp the intricacies of each part and to utilize every tool that would yield mastery of his art. Whatever his focus, he was ALL in!
Over 50 years ago, he opened Bob White’s Karate Studio in Costa Mesa, where it stands today. Mr. White and his school are credited with more than 250 Black Belts.
As a professed Christian, his spiritual journey was fraught and therefore hard won. He never abandoned the teachings of Christ. Highly principled and of superb integrity, Bob embraced the wonder of his Creator.
Bob is preceded in Heaven by his mother, Bonnie, his father, Billy Bob and his grandson, Stephen Chaplin. He leaves behind his loving family including wife, Barbara and blended family of six daughters, Andree, Alia, Kelly, Stacy, Nicole and Sydney, as well as 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Bob White was a compassionate soul who will be remembered and missed by the countless lives he touched.
